Nel filmato di questa Unit abbiamo incontrato alcuni nuovi phrasal verbs. Vediamo qui di seguito le frasi in cui compaiono:

To knock something off = portare via/buttare giù/ridurre il costo, tempo, ecc.

If that kick had hit me, it would have knocked my head off!

Se quel calcio mi avesse presa, mi avrebbe staccato la testa!

To sort something out = risolvere un problema o una situazione difficile

I thought you might be able to help me sort something out…

Pensavo che potessi aiutarmi a risolvere qualcosa…

To be after something/someone = cercare di ottenere qualcosa/qualcuno

He’s definitely after something.

Sicuramente cerca qualcosa.

To be in for something = aspettarsi presto qualcosa di spiacevole

If that’s his reason for being nice then he’s in for a big disappointment!

Se è quella la ragione per cui è gentile, allora si aspetti una grossa delusione!

To win somebody over/round = persuadere qualcuno a fare qualcosa

If he really wants to win her over, then he’ll have to make a move…

Se veramente vuole conquistarla, deve pur agire…
