About Us
Yamaguchi Electronics Ltd: a global leader for over 50 years.
Nobuyuki Yamaguchi founded the company in 1950 as a walkie-talkie factory. Yamaguchi Electronics soon became a leading producer in telephony and is now a global leader in mobile products. In 1989 we established our first subsidiaryin the UK, and others followed.
Our commitment has always been to bring the benefits of our innovative technology to you, our loyal customers.
More Recent Corporate Highlights
- 1990: Began mobile telephone production
- 1995: Established Yamaguchi Singapore subsidiary
- 2000: Began 3G (3rd generation) mobile production
Philosophy and Mission
The move from the 20th to the 21st century has been a very exciting part of our development. We started out as a small factory in Japan, but we now feel we have a larger worldwide mission. The Yamaguchi philosophy has always been to improve communication between people with the help of the most advanced technology available.
Recent Product Releases
- Feb. 2003: YGM–250 mobile phone – for wireless data synchronisation between mobile telephone and desktop computer
- Aug. 2003: YGP-680 ultra-compact mobile phone
- Present: YGM-380 production of “multi-mobile” phone with embeddedGPS technology
