Hello / Hi Ciao
Good morning Buon giorno
Good afternoon / Good evening Buon pomeriggio / Buona sera
Goodnight Buona notte
Nice to meet you / Pleased to meet you Piacere Goodbye / Bye-Bye / Bye Arrivederci
Per le presentazioni abbiamo invece notato: My name’s… I’m… I’m from…
Per chiedere informazioni abbiamo incontrato what, who e where seguiti dalla forma interrogativa del verbo to be:
What’s your name? Come ti chiami?
Who’s next? Chi è il prossimo?
Where are you from? Di dove sei?
Per chiedere ulteriori informazioni senza ripetere la stessa domanda, si può ricorrere all’espressione What about…?:
BILL: Where are you from? Di dove sei?
CHARLOTTE: Sussex. What about you? Del Sussex. E tu?
BILL: Florence, in Italy. Di Firenze, in Italia.
Presta particolare attenzione alle parole che contengono ‘h’ aspirata e ‘th’, come per esempio: thank you, thanks, hello, hi, who’s next, how old are you?, here’s my phone number, here we come.
E ora via con gli esercizi di ripasso!
